About Us

Pinewood Academy started off as a family dream.

Together with over 30 years of experience in child care, it became time to begin a new journey and share our passion with you.

Meet the Director Samantha

Hello everyone!  My name is Samantha, and I am the Director of Pinewood Academy.  I have been working in Childcare since 2004 and have a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Thomas Edison State University.  My teaching experience includes working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.  In 2021, I received my certificate for Understanding Licensing for Child Care Centers.  I was a Director at several daycares such as, Goddard, Rainbow Child Care Center, Bright Horizons, Kindercare, and Kiddie Academy.  With my teaching and managing experience, I bring a lot of knowledge to Pinewood Academy.  I look forward to growing our branch and becoming a part of many families around the area.

Meet the Assistant Director Emmie

Hello!  My name is Emmie, and I am the Assistant Director of Pinewood Academy.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bucknell University, and I obtained an Elementary K-6 Teaching Certificate for Pennsylvania in 2008.  My experience in teaching ranges from children as young as 6 weeks old, to elementary aged students.  Aside from teaching, I held titles such as, Education Specialist and Curriculum Director at Kiddie Academy, Bright Horizons, and Rainbow Childcare Center.  I was also the Assistant Director at Kindercare, and Co-Director at Goddard.  With my experience and knowledge in teaching and managing Childcare, I have a lot to offer Pinewood Academy.  I am honored to be part of the Pinewood Academy Family and look forward to welcoming new friends!

Our Philosophy

We believe that every child needs to feel at home. Learning begins with a safe and nurturing environment. At Pinewood Academy we present all that and more.

Program Goals

We allow each child to build their confidence and success through S.T.E.A.M.

Our S.T.E.A.M. based curriculum allows children to learn through exploration and creation. S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Learning through S.T.E.A.M. prepares children for real life situations.
